Kao Kiaew, Pong Din Dam reservoir, Sri Racha (motorway to Pattaya)

From Bangkok:
From Bangkok, take the motorway (Highway 7) direction Chonburi. After the Suvarnabhumi airport, just stay on the highway 7. Zero your odometer at the second toll booth (Panthong tollgate). At 10.5 km, the road forks.  Follow the left fork sign posted Pattaya. At 21.5 km, turn left at the Khao Kiaew Open Zoo and Kao Kiaew Golf and Country Club exit. (Green signs) Follow the road and at 23.2km, go straight towards Khao Kiaew Country Club and Pong Din Dam Reservoir (do not turn left towards the zoo). At 25.9 km, the road forks again.  Turn right (not straight into Khao Kiaew Country Club) and follow the road to the Pong Din Dam reservoir and Start Finish area.

From Pattaya:
Head out of town on Sukhumvit Road going north. Turn right at highway 36 heading for Rayong. Turn left at highway 7 towards Bangkok. Exit at the Khao Kiaew Open Zoo exit (after approximately 27km), u-turn and cross the bridge over highway 7 and zero your odemeter.
After 1.8km (blue sign for Khao Kiaew Country club), go straight towards Khao Kiaew Country Club. After 1.9km, the road forks (blue sign for Pong Din Dam Reservoir Road).  Turn right (not left into Khao Kiaew Country Club). After 1.6 km the road bends to the left, follow the road to the Pong Din Dam reservoir and Start Finish area.

Drinks Hydration:

There will be one water supply station in the middle of the course. Each competitor must start with minimum 1(One) litre of water.We strongly recommend the use of a camelpack or any hydration system.

Electrolyte powder and sport drinks will be provided by our sponsors

Safety:

The safety issue is for us extremely important. An ambulance and 2 nurses
will be on duty that day.  The race has been specially designed to allow this medical staff on the scene in a matter of minutes in case of an emergency.

Adventure racing is a challenging sport, but teamwork and good sportsmanship are integral parts of making it a safe event. Pay attention to the needs of other competitors. If someone needs help, stop and help them.

Also, please come well prepared: mentally, physically, logistically.

Safety Considerations specific to this event include: Dehydration;Hyperthermia;Wildlife (snakes, spiders, stray dogs, mosquitoes…..); travel through rugged areas (abrasions, twisted ankles, etc).

Weather: It is expected to be hot and humid (35˚C) during the day. Please prepare for weather.
